About Me
Hi, I’m Debbie, teacher, mum, and someone who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed.
For 15 years, I’ve taught children, including those with special needs and trauma. I’ve practiced mindfulness for over two decades. When our family faced an extended time of crisis, approaching 30 hospital admissions between us, I hit a wall. I had to take off so much time from work, I had to step away from my job. I couldn’t give those children the attention they deserved.
By bedtime, I was burnt out and snappy. The moments I used to cherish, story time, cuddles, connection, felt out of reach.
Then one evening, I watched my daughter gently tuck paper kittens into handmade beds. Her calm, her empathy, her quiet imagination, it stopped me in my tracks.
This is how children find calm, I realised.
Through presence. Through play. Through connection.
That moment sparked a new path. Drawing on everything I’d learned, from my meditation teachers, my years in the classroom and my own parenting, I began creating a mindfulness toy to help children (and their grown-ups) slow down, connect and breathe… together.
It began at our kitchen table with a sewing machine. Friends tried it, then friends of friends. The feedback was humbling: it soothed bedtime worries, sparked connection and opened up space for calm.
That’s why I’m here, to share it with you.
This isn’t just about calming children.
It’s about creating a shared pause. A moment to feel safe, connected, and present - together.
With love,
Debbie
